Founded in 2023 by storytellers Cecimercy Wanza and Clementina Kabutha, Real Strike Studios Ltd. is redefining Kenyan cinema with bold, authentic narratives. From debuting as the production team behind A Better Life on Showmax to earning multiple awards for the short film Kanairo, the studio quickly proved its creative edge.

In 2024, Real Strike Studios produced Nairobi Bachelor, a 13-episode Showmax original reality series that topped streaming charts in Kenya and South Africa for six weeks straight. That same year, it partnered with the Kenya International Sports Film Festival to host a directing masterclass, underscoring its commitment to nurturing local talent. In just two years, Real Strike Studios has emerged as a powerful voice in East African storytelling, with a growing legacy of culture-shaping content.

Cecimercy Wanza

Director, Writer, Producer

Cecimercy Wanza is an award-winning Kenyan filmmaker with nearly a decade of experience in directing, producing, and screenwriting for film, television, advertising, and documentaries. Her acclaimed series Nairobi Bachelor topped Showmax charts in Kenya and South Africa, while her short film Kanairo earned international awards and festival selections across Africa, Europe, and Asia. A versatile storyteller, Wanza’s portfolio includes A Better Life, The Editor, and the environmental documentary E-Waste, which won the 2022 Journalistic Excellence Award. She is a Women in Film Awards nominee, a Some Fine Day Pix alumna, and continues to develop powerful stories like Makonde and Miale, cementing her influence in African cinema.

Clementina Kabutha

Producer, Writer

Clementina Kabutha is a versatile Kenyan filmmaker—producer, director, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor—known for her dynamic contributions to both film and television. She wrote, directed, and produced the award-winning short film Vamp, and co-created Kanairo, which earned multiple international awards and festival recognitions. Her sci-fi project Still Waters won Best Sci-Fi at the Varsity Film Expo, while her work on Showmax’s A Better Life and the upcoming film Hope highlights her growing impact in the industry. With additional experience in sound engineering, event cinematography, and jury service at Talanta Institute, Clementina continues to shape Kenyan cinema with her creativity and vision.
