Equipment Clearance for Film Productions

by | Sep 15, 2026

Processing Time: Approximately 1 Week

Bringing your own cameras, lighting, sound or other production equipment into Kenya requires advance customs planning.

Kenya does not currently operate under the ATA Carnet system. Productions bringing equipment into the country may instead need to arrange a customs bond, calculated as a percentage of the declared value of the equipment.

To get the process started, we typically require:

  • A detailed equipment manifest, including item descriptions, quantities, serial numbers and values in USD
  • Your flight itinerary, including entry and departure dates

At Real Strike Studios, we work with trusted customs and logistics partners to coordinate equipment clearance and help you understand the expected costs before your equipment arrives.
