Bringing a production to Kenya can be a seamless experience when you have the right local partner on the ground.
From diverse locations and favourable filming conditions to an experienced pool of local filmmakers, crew and production talent, Kenya offers everything you need to bring a production to life.
Equipment is readily accessible, and the country continues to invest in building a stronger, more globally recognised film industry. The Kenya Film Commission plays an important role in supporting the growth of the sector and positioning film as a meaningful contributor to Kenya’s creative economy.
Before any filming project to begin, a production MUST apply for the filming licenses from Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) The filming permits for TV series and full length films are usually processed within 48 hours upon receipt of the application at a fee of Ksh. 15000 plus Ksh. 1000 per day while for short productions within 10-25 minutes cost Ksh. 5000.
