People have asked me how we managed to get a plethora of cast in hashtag #NairobiBachelor.
The casting process was the most tasking and daunting to me as it was very different from the
usual casting process I’ve done before.
Our team focused on discovering genuine personalities and compelling narratives that would
resonate with our audience using the three-tier casting approach which designed to ensure
authenticity at every stage.

Rest assured many people didn’t end up at the final product but that is the norm with shows♀️
Better luck next time and be on the look out for season 2!
We initiated an extensive online application process, allowing us to reach diverse candidates
across different demographics and professional backgrounds. This approach gave us access to a
rich tapestry of Nairobi’s social landscape.

Through carefully structured phone interviews with story producers, we evaluated candidates’
genuine interest, communication skills, and personal stories. This phase was crucial in
identifying individuals who could articulate their experiences authentically and were ready to
ACTUALLY FIND LOVE ❤️

The final stage brought candidates together, allowing us to assess interpersonal dynamics and
screen presence. This step was instrumental in curating a cast that could create meaningful
connections both on and off camera. Since we were dealing with NORMAL people- not trained
actors, we needed to know how they would perform infront of the camera with the lights and
cameras and all the activities behind the scenes- people were nervous 😬
The success of our methodology is evident in the show’s reception on Showmax. Each
participant brings a unique perspective, collectively showcasing the vibrant spirit of Nairobi’s
dating culture.

I’m particularly proud of our team’s commitment to representing authentic stories that challenge
conventional reality TV narratives. This project demonstrates how thoughtful casting can elevate
content and create meaningful viewer engagement.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to bringing this vision to life.
PS: Be on the look out for a call out for other auditions coming soon!
